    Position Summary
    Ensure accounts receive full, requested productivity and quality levels. Develop and maintain full communication within the region, facility and corporate offices.  Manage the facility as a separate entity/profit center. Manage all aspects of the distribution center to include transportation when applicable. Review all facility financial information to include weekly flash reports, annual budget preparation and Profit/Loss statements. Ensure that all licensing and permits are in place as required by state and local law. Conduct performance reviews of management and assist supervision with performance reviews for all associates within the facility.

    Accountabilities

    Operations- Conduct analysis of workload as compared to manpower and equipment. Report on department and or account productivity and profitability. Ensure work schedules are in place promote efficiency. Review all equipment preventative maintenance schedules and work orders. Develop daily productivity tracking by employee and chart monthly. Ensure proper percentage of labor is charged to respective departments to ensure proper factoring is achieved to identify accurate productivity.

    Administrative- Make sure meetings are held reviewing warehouse issues. Ensure the daily pre-shift meetings cover previous productivity, operational problems, forecasting workload and any other pertinent company information. Perform annual review of customer contracts, determining and recommending annual increases to the Regional Vice-President and Director of Business Development.

    Review and coordinate all shift paperwork. Audit all billing activity for accuracy. Properly sign and authorize all purchase order requisitions, vouchers and customer billing. Ensure that all paperwork is handled in a timely manner. Coordinate all alarm-monitoring systems and review sprinkler system testing.    
    Conduct monthly review of aging for accounts receivable and work closely with the General Manager of Administration and Corporate office to recover balances in a timely fashion.     

    Review and maintain SOP book and use own discretion when distributing to others.

    Safety- Implement and direct programs to ensure the safety of all equipment, personnel and property. Execute safety and sanitation schedules that ensure the facility's compliance with Corporate, OSHA, FDA, AIB or ASI standards.

    Periodic Duties

    1) Act as the primary trainer to supervision.

    2) Act as the coordinator for all physical inventories.

    3) Act as stock controller and communicate any discrepancies.

    4) Coordinate with customers any product recall programs.

    5) Participation in department or company meetings.


    Intermittent Duties

    1) Fill in for Operational Supervisors on vacation.

    2) Visit other grocery product warehouses and attend affiliated meetings.

    3) Ensure pallet control standards are being met

    Provide operational data for MIL forecasting and management purposes.
    Comply with all Company rules, policies, and procedures. Work and behave safely by following all safety rules and regulations.
    Perform any task required to support customer requirements and Company goals.

    Other Specifications

    Must be on-call for alarm system or problems during off work hours. Subject to evening, weekend and Holiday work schedules.

    Essential Skills, Education, and Experience
    Complexity of Duties

    Must understand requirements of accounts and position manpower to fit particular needs.Paperwork is standard, but must be accomplished properly.Ensure facility's profitability and success.

    Initiative
    Must be able to make the right decision for the company and the account.
    Must be able to prioritize work energies on inbound versus outbound versus sanitation.
    Must be familiar with mechanics and use of various types of rail and MHE equipment.
    Must be able to analyze and impact productivity numbers to result in appropriate handling margins.
    Must ensure that cost controls are followed to ensure the facility is operating in accordance with budgeted numbers.
    Must be able to audit initial contract set-up in T-Logic to ensure accurate and timely billing.
    Must obtain all necessary certifications relative to OSHA, DOT, HAZMAT and FDA approved HACCP training when applicable.

    Accuracy
    Must be able to review/recognize damage - warehouse versus rail versus truckline and guard systems against damage.
    Ensure accurate billing for all customers within the facility.
    Ensure that all product and pallets are properly accounted for on paper. Avoid vehicle abuse - clamps versus pallets, pul-pac versus pallets and dock boards. Be knowledgeable of trailer and car arrivals and positions to offset demurrage costs.  Understand how demurrage is calculated and necessary steps to avoid exposure.

    Contacts
    Conduct warehouse inspections in absence of/or with General Managers. Attend account meetings and social events. Act as point of contact for all fire, safety and sanitation inspections. Develop local vendor contacts to supply facility.


    Five (5) or more years of related Warehousing & Distribution leadership experience and/or training is highly desirable. This related experience may be substituted for degree; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
    Proven track record of successful innovation experience in Warehousing & Distribution.

    Ideal candidate will possess a proven track record of leadership, growth and innovation in the Warehousing & Distribution.  Position will travel as necessary to various MIL locations, clients, carriers, etc.

    This position does not offer any sort of  relocation compensation.
