Manager, WMS Product

Position Summary
This position will have a thorough understanding and experience with utilization and implementation of top tier RF-based WMS systems, strategies, and policies, in a warehousing environment.  Position will provide WMS application design and planning leadership to manage centralized WMS product offering(s) in alignment with client requirements and business strategy.   In particular, this resource will be the leading superuser managing the deployment, configuration, standards, investment strategy, and process alignment of one or more WMS product offering(s).  This would include heavy involvement in facility startups, client interface and integration, and WMS system training and process optimization.  This position will be part of the Solutions & Execution Standards corporate organization integrating process and technology to create client value.

 Key Accountabilities

 · Corporate owner of (1) or more WMS product offering(s).  This leadership role would incorporate development of corporate standards, policies, best practices, configurations, and setup strategy in relation to assigned WMS products.  The position would be the lead superuser for a particular WMS Product Offering.

· Responsible to develop, manage, and deploy technology WMS systems and solutions to meet customer requirements in the field.  Responsible for optimizing system policy, configurations, setup, and configuration to align with engineering designed process to meet customer requirements.  Responsible for ensuring system performance in meeting client requirements and KPIs.
· WMS lead in client startup/implementation project teams owning WMS system configuration, deployment, and setup, in alignment with modeled engineering process and standards, client requirements, and _ standards.  This role will also own and deliver required system and process testing prior to operational go-live.
· Key deliverable for this role will be to develop process, expertise, teams, and capabilitiy (including on-boarding, training, and hiring of new resources) to independently manage, maintain, and deploy WMS Product offering(s).   Strategy is to develop capability internally to manage our WMS systems rather than outsouce to consulting organizations.  This role will lead that transformation.
· Responsible for WMS vendor relationship/communication, contracting, procurement standards, and most importantly vendor performance.  Responsible for management of outside part consulting services in alignment to WMS Product Offering(s) client and internal requirements.
· Development of WMS product standards, policies, and strategies.  Role will provide leadership to local WMS application managers & planners.  Key focal points will be leveraging and deploying WMS planning capabiltieis (ie. wave release), labor mgmt capabilities (productivity reporting/direct tasks), and optimization capabilities (ie. slotting/direct tasks).
· Develop, lead, and facilitate WMS application training for all warehouse and value-added packaging processes.  This would include developing written training standards and manuals, facilitiating training onsite to large teams, as well as participating in client solutions meetings during the sales process.
· Project Manager in collaboration with _ IT and Network Manager for all client projects for all integration, interface, reporting, and data requirements.
· Responsible to develop process innovation and continuous improvement to optimize WMS system performance & site productivity in alignment with process requirements to meet customer deliverables.

 

 

Education/Experience/Skills/Required Qualifications:

· (5)+ years warehousing experience and/or training required in a similar capacity.  Preferred Five (3) or more years direct 3PL/4PL professional experience in a similar capacity or operations/engineering capacity.  Experience in a consultancy capacity a plus.
· A Bachelors degree is required with a preference for a degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, or MIS (Management Information Systems).  A plus for an additional masters degree in business (MBA) engineering (MSIE), or technology.
· Experience in implementing, leveraging, and managing top tier WMS systems is required.  Experience with PkMS, RedPrairie, HighJump, Infor-EXE, Softeon, Synapse, Catalyst, or SAP tools a plus.  Professional experience in a consultancy capacity in information technology development, implementation, and management preferred.
· Proven experience implementing WMS systems and aligning WMS planning and systems design to operational process.  Prior experience inside the tactical planning process in the supply chain is a plus.
· Experience with MRP, JIT, Auto-replenishment and other manufacturing tactical planning strategies a plus.  Direct experience as a warehouse and/or manufacturing planning resource is a plus.
· Experience with Lean or TPS (Toyota Production System) a plus.  Certification or training in Lean a plus.
· Six Sigma experience and/or certification/training a plus.  APICS (CPIM or CSCP) certification a plus.
· Experience with utilization and deployment of S&OP (Sales & Operational Planning) processes preferred.
· Position will require technical expertise. Experience with up to date network LAN administration, IT LAN hardware, DBA professional experience, and knowledge of IT infrastructure and network software solutions will be required.  Oracle and Windows training/certifications a plus.
· RF/wireless network experience.  Experience with RF deployment in a warehouse or with Symbol or LXE hardware a plus.  Experience with Cisco wireless technology & hardware a plus.
· Advanced knowledge and experience of PC hardware, software, networking WAN/LAN systems, and database systems.  Must be experienced and capable with the entire MS Office suite of software (including advanced MS Access developer). Experience with visual basic application development or writing SQL code will be beneficial
· Experience with supply chain modeling software, such as i2 Transportation Modeler, i2 Supply Chain Strategist, LogicNet, CAPS, Manugistics, PC MILER, APPIAN, or other transportation routing and planning software solutions will be beneficial
· Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to create and deliver executive level presentations.  Proven experience as facilitator of large teams/projects.
· Demonstrated ability in fostering teamwork and creating a positive, productive work environment.

Other Qualifications Including Travel

Position is a remote corporate management position to be based in home office or _ facility.Position will travel as necessary to various _ locations, clients, carriers, etc, including to China.Travel for this position is estimated at 30-40%.
